AgileGame: Setting Up the First Session

11/22/14

All right, I'm about to start the first (real) session of AgileGame, Stephan.

I've probably done more thinking about it than I really should've allowed, but again, rules are still coming into shape, so whatevs.

This being the first ever attempt at this, and because I feel like this might be something worth properly documenting. I'm going to record this, I think.

Except, I haven't really done a good Ubuntu recording yet.... Let's try some things really quickly. I'm not going to try live streaming this just yet, anyways.

Going with a—*ahem*—simple SimpleScreenRecorder setup. Just record my speech, no speaker sounds, won't be necessary for this first game for sure.

Yeah, that should fit our purposes.

All right, now to setup the workspace. I'll keep all my work to one screen for now. I don't have a good setup to record both screens right now, and I would like to experiment with a single screen anyways, for the sake of thinking carefully on how to make this AgileGame an actual web game, which most people would want running on a single screen, I think.

Half the screen will be a terminal, for coding and stuff, and the other half a browser with a single tab, at the url of the game in question.

Wait, wait! Two browser windows, the other one will just use a Google countdown timer.

All right, now, the allowed setup before the timer starts....

You know what? I think I'll go ahead and make an AgileGame repository. It'll also be a submodule in the hour game repository.

I think it's set up to the point where starting with a video is fine.

*Deep breath* Let's do this.
