Back to Everyday Post
10/16/14
The "working on blog stuff everyday" instead of "posting everyday" plan isn't working. I'm not doing it. I'm using my plan of transitioning over to Tornado stuff as an excuse to basically not do anything else productive.
Except for language-learning stuff, but that's something to talk about in another blog post (I'm really excited about how stuff's going, though).
But, using something as an excuse to not do something else, and then proceeding to waste my time doing stuff I won't remember or value having done is a broken mechanic. I'm removing it.
I'm still working on the Tornado transition, but I'll still post everyday. The scripts I end up developing that'll move all the blog posts into a database will work on the additional posts just as well as the previous ones.
Coming soon:
- Updating my Resume and LinkedIn Stuff
- Conference Associate Application
- Review of "A Pattern Language"
- My Opinions on GamerGate
- My Opinions on GMOs
Those last two are inspired by Facebook discussions/arguments I've gotten into. The first one is something I've been meaning to do but putting off.
The New Experiement: Setting Deadlines
I think I'll try out setting deadlines. Blogging about them even. I think deadlines, in many cases, work better than time-blocking for me, considering how some things I do at work are run and wait for completion. Though, the two aren't mutally exclusive, so I'll try a bit of both, I think.
- Updating my Resume and LinkedIn Stuff (10/17)
- Conference Associate Application (10/18)
- Review of "A Pattern Language" (10/19)
- My Opinions on GamerGate (10/25)
- My Opinions on GMOs (11/01)
I think things will go much better here.
Also! Also, I started running again. Last time it took a while for things to start clicking, and things are instantenously better, but I feel them slowly coming together.
