Book Reading Plans

03/13/15

So, as I near the end of Hire With Your Head (seriously on the last two pages), I'm thinking over my New Year's Resolutions when it comes to reading books. The plan was to read a book monthly and to write a review monthly. As of finishing this book, I'm about three weeks ahead of schedule as far as book reading goes. However, I've yet to write any reviews this year.

The main reason for that is that I haven't yet planned to write a review in a specific time-block, or for a set of pomodoros for the day. That ends today. For the rest of the month, the pomodoro reserved for reading will be reserved for writing reviews for the books I've read so far this year.

I have not yet decided if I will be reviewing along the chronological order that I read the books or in reverse. I'm think in reverse because I might just start writing reviews today, and I have the book I'm finishing today because, well, I still need to finish it. So, I'll have the necessary reference material.

In the future, my goal will be to finish the book for the month with at least a week to spare to write a good review. Ideally, I think I would like to read a book in one week, and write the review the following week, and read two books per month, but I may be a long ways from such a schedule.

I guess I'll take it one book at a time. Also, I got to make sure I make the time to read my IEEE and ACM magazines as well. I might even want to make pomodoro-time for reviewing some articles in those magazines as well. I know there's some I wanted to review already.

One bit of reading at a time.
