Emptying the Brain
07/13/15
My brain right now is full of stuff and I don't want it there. Here's the junk in the trunk of my mind.
This is horrifying. Awful advice from a horrifying situation. Ugh.
I should update my vimrc setup on my server. I should probably update the git repo I setup for my .vim area on my chromebook and save it here.
I need to move my encrypted file of personal passwords off my Ubuntu desktop and think of a good setup such that it isn't too vulnerable. Perhaps a separate partition of crouton on my chromebook devoted only to storing my passwords. That way, an attacker has to get past the (weak) chromebook defenses, and past the (hopefully stronger) crouton encryption and then, finally, the gpgkey password.
Cyanide and Happiness is hilarious and depressing and I love it.
I need to stretch my wrists. I need to build the habit of stretching.
I'm going to start tracking when I do the following:
- Soda
- Candy
- Reading webcomics
- Reading blog posts
- Reading Facebook (using it for chat/events only)
- Reading reddit
The goal is to more-or-less stop doing all of these things, or specifically only, say, read a webcomic after it's updated so many times or something. I want to change my habits for the better.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is a cool show. And the ending theme dance is also neat.
You know what's also cool? So many things:
- Attack on Titan
- The Devil is a Part-Timer!
- Louie
- Wilfred
- Cyanide and Happiness
- Mega Man
- Mighty No. 9 (the idea, not so much the result)
- This list
- Your Eyes are Stupid
I should make some sort of Rory's Big List of Awesome Things
Ooh, ooh... is that a real link? Maybe? I have no idea.
I need to put up my incomplete gamejam game on this here server.
Grocery shopping almost everyday is going really well.
This link should have the date at the end because I might make posts like this regularly.
High-school reminizing.
Looking up the spelling of reminiscing.
Thinking about fiction ideas in my head.
-
Vigilante story where anyone can die
- Think Game of Thrones meets Batman
- Where results are literally a matter of chance
- Basic income startup revolution
-
man with nanomachine, mosaic, shape-shfiting arm
- Shape-shifting kinda looks like how schools of fish moving looks like
- Learning to Dream metaphor for learnign to draw (webcomic idea)
There's too much, Stephan! The brain just gets noisier....
It's like I've eaten way more than I should've and now have to deal with the conseqences of being super, super full. I think limiting the sources of consumption of ideas for a while will be ideal.
