Enjoying Christmas Presents
01/07/15
I have recently started proper enjoyment of my Christmas gifts. Specifically, I received two books:
I was a part of a secret Santa setup, and just linked everyone participating my Amazon book wishlist. The person who got me... got me these two books.
I'm really excited about the first book. It's what I'm reading first, and I'm already a good chunk in. I can tell it's going to be very valuable to the development of my Javascript craft. Already it has explained aspects of Javascript that I have encountered but did not understand.
Currently, I'm on the chapter discussing inheritence. It contains some very interesting insights into object construction: why classical inheritence should be avoided, how to make properly private data, and giving all instances of something greater functionality (including instances that already exist).
It's all super cool and opening my mind to programming paradigms that I am unfamiliar with.
