Everyday
05/10/14
I have been trying to do some things everyday.
Github commits. Blog posts. Planking.
I'm not necessarily a believer in the "don't break the chain" mantra, but I see it as a good starting point. It helps me to get a feel for how to do the things I want to do. How to make time for those things. How to make the small amount of time I make for them count.
Lately, my github commits have mostly been towards a GameMaker project. Today I maybe spent five minutes on it. That's not a lot, but I managed to get to a point today I've been working towards a while. The player can now click on the screen, and the avatar will jump along an arc including the clicked pixel.
Soon, I will add better constraints for how the jump works. The GameMaker project will slowly morph from a toy into an actual game.
Hopefully, that'll happen sooner than five minutes a day at a time, but I believe five minutes a day will get me there eventually. I didn't know that before.
