Forcing Routine into the Flux

08/24/15

So, my blogging has been a bit spotty lately. That's mostly because the majority of my posts were during bus rides, and those rides are no longer a part of my day-to-day. I am developing a new routine, and right now everything is in flux. When I wake up, when I go to bed, when I eat. The only consistent thing is when I get to work, and that's because I have to make a meeting at 0800 or bad things may happen.

Also, I got to cook dinner after I get home from work because I'm not about to waste money going out to eat anymore. Food spending may be as low as $340 this month, and maybe as low as $300 the next month. The long-term goal would be around $200 a month (about $3.50 per person per day), I think.

But that's besides the point. Things are in flux right now, and really that means now is the time to cultivate the habits I want to stay in my life, and to weed out the ones I want out. I want to keep the house clean, and keep the yards tended. I want to work on productive, even money-making side projects, and I want to have good eating habits. I want to quit reddit, and most other forms of daily consumptions of entertainment.

I can binge on content from time-to-time and be happier for it, and otherwise try to facilitate a diverse set of productive things to do. With high enough diversity, I can hope to not burn out on any one given thing.

So, while I'm letting things fall in place, I'm going to try to note things I don't want to become habit, and try to replace them with things I do. From there, I'll try to mutate things into a sleep-schedule that I find the most rewarding.

The things I want to be a part of my routine are:

I got a lot of stuff I want to fill my time with, I really need to get rid of the old habits that pollute what little time I have.
