Game Jam Haunted

07/12/15

So, the UA Game Dev Club is doing a summer game jam, and I'm participating. It started yesterday (Saturday, July 11th) around 1800, and will be going until 2400 tonight.

Once again, my plan is to make an HTML5 game, but unlike the last game jam game, this one will not be using Crafty. I think exploring and expanding my options is pretty important at my current level of web development and game development. So, this time, I think I'll go with the Isogenic Engine.

It looks pretty cool:

I think that last one is either a good sign or a bad sign. If it's as great as they say, definitely a good sign, but it seems like I can't access the complete library without buying? That may be a bad sign.

In any case, it probably doesn't matter, I won't use most of the features of the engine for it to matter that I'm using the "prototype" version. I also don't have to buy it unless I want to, so it's in their best interest to convince me to want to buy it.

In any case, I think I'll blog my development process throughout the day.
