Hyperfocus?

09/17/15

At work lately, I've really been able to just submerse myself into the tasks I set out to do. Overall, this has been awesome. Though, in some cases, I can get really hung up on getting little details right, or doing things the way I want them done. Which actually might be good right now at work, because what I'm working on is new, and I need to learn the in's and out's.

In any case, now seems like a good time to get into side-projects at home. Who knows how long this mentality will last? Right now, I've been working on infrastructure. I've been working on the stuff that allows me to do work. Updating this site will be a powerful step towards that. Making it so I can do work on any computer I have access to will also be a powerful step.

Hmmm.... I wonder if I could do work on my phone in any meaningful way. Something to consider.

In any case, I think this state-of-mind is quite cyclical. It's not a result of my consistent attempts at being better, it's just the season of my brain. Even so, learning how to take the best advantage of this state is in my best interests. It will probably be when I get the most work done. If I can get the most important work done during this phase, hopefully I can glide to the next time my brain is like this.
