I Love to Run
05/19/15
It seems when I'm not running, I forget how much I enjoy it, and so when eventually I lose the habit of running 5 days a week, I don't realize what I'm missing.
Running really is a meditative experience for me. I really get a chance to think about what I'm thinking about, and am capable of not wasting emotional energy on it (because my energy is currently focused on running).
Further, after only having been running a week, I find myself more inclined to run the trip to the bus stop in the mornings (which is good, because lately I'm running late to that bus stop), and also run a bit of the trip home from the bus stop (my legs are usually pretty tired by the end of the day, though).
It's saving me a slight amount of time on travel, and I don't feel I'm losing anything by speeding up those trips. Though, thinking on it, the run takes me 20 minutes, so if I cut 20 minutes elsewhere because of it, then really I broke even.
No downside.
Also, I know when I've eaten too much junk because running hurts in a way that it shouldn't. Really helps convince me to eat better.
