Javascript: Back to the Timer
01/11/15
So, I haven't worked on the timer for about a week now. The last thing I managed to commit was a youtube video popping up when the timer expires.
It's not something I've pulled into this website's timer yet, though, because I want better youtube functionality before I switch from the perfectly functional public-domain song playing setup.
As far as youtube functionality goes:
-
Need an input box that takes a Youtube url
- Let user set alarm they desire
-
Use the official,
flash-requiredYoutube API- Finding the link just now alerted me to the no-flash-required iframe Youtube API
- Maybe minor Youtube search functionality in the timer itself?
Some things to do to improve the code of the timer app:
-
Improve timer expiration naming convention for code readability
- Right now, it is named after the song that plays
- Run the code through JSLint and iterate
I think I'll focus on improving the code before continuing development on the youtube setup.
