Lights Going Out Memories
09/03/15
Every time it rained when I was a kid, I hoped the lights would go out. The lights going out meant candles. It meant board games. It meant singing, and flashlights, and hide and seek. It meant that initial shock and scream of total darkness. The senses felt sharper. The drum of rain on the roof so much more present. The hard-to-place scent of humidity.
It was simply magical.
