On Ability and Responsibility

12/26/14

If a person believes themself capable of doing something, and they feel it should be done, is it their responsibility to do it? To try, at least?

There's so much I think needs to be done, and there's so much I want to do, and there's both limited overlap and limited time for action. How selfish am I being for not doing my best towards doing what should be done? How selfish for doing nothing? Is thinking about it this way a productive way to go about convincing myself to execute better actions and habits?

I mean, I know that the route to efficient execution of action is not straightforward. There's a good hierarchy of steps that lead me from inaction to serious action, I feel.

I feel at least some further thinking on this would be good at some point.
