QuakeCon 2015 Day 3: Exhausted
07/27/15
I slept-in late on this day. Got up around 1200. I had stayed up pretty late the night before for Master Pancake and drunken adventures.
We went to a nearby barbecue place. It was really delicious. I never actually paid attention to the name of the place, though. The burger place I went to last year, which was across the street, seems to have since closed down.
I played some Super Smash Bros. Melee and Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. I went and hung out in the nicely lit lobby with Rosse as we sipped on some coffee.
I talked about future plans with her a bit. Figuring out how we should go about learning to do freelance work (she wants to do it, and I've always wanted to try it out). We talked about getting the house ready to sell, and about saving much more income.
I talked about how next time I might want to try buying a used car and then reselling it afterwards, and see how that goes. Though, I'm not entirely sure I will come next year. It really depends on a lot of variables.
We went to a place called Pluckers and got some wings for lunch. I got their hottest sauce with my wings. It was delicious. They had a wall of flame challenge, but I decided against it, knowing that it would certainly affect my car ride home the next day.
Afterwards, we stopped by a nearby Krispy Kreme and got a delicious dozen.
From there, we met up with my room-mate and took the rental car back for the purposes of packing up that night so we could leave dark and early the next day.
We got back to the Hilton in time to catch the end of a Quake 1v1 tournament between a guy named Rapha and another named Evil. Quake looks very much like the kind of game I could get into. Lots of fun-looking running and gunning.
After that, we went and got the dollies, went to the BYOC area, and packed our things up. The wheels weren't properly screwed onto one of the dollies and that could have been bad, but thankfully nothing broke.
We packed up the rental, and I headed down to my roommate's brother's house to crash for a few hours before we all rode back home to Tucson.
