Rewatching Korra

I am rewatching the Legend of Korra with my cousin, whom I had watched the entire series of Avatar: the Last Airbender during the week leading up to its finale.

It seemed fitting to do the same again with Korra. So here he is, and now we have watched Book 2. Book 1 he already watched, and we have a tight schedule to fit the series into, so Book 1 is something I'll rewatch at a later date.

Book 2 I thought I would like less, having watched the whole series and having liked the following seasons so much more, but I actually like it even more on rewatching. I don't know if it's the added context, or the proper expectation of what I knew I didn't like and the reintroduction of things that are just... quite special.

Watching it again is like reuniting with an old friend on a special occasion. It's bittersweet in a way, because the meeting is fleeting, and we'll both continue on our separate paths after the ocassion is over.

What a wonderful experience it is, none-the-less.
