Rewatching Korra: Thoughts
04/24/15
I have now seen every book of Korra twice, though the last time I rewatched the first book was over two years ago. In any case, I really love the Legend of Korra series. I like it better than its predecessor, even.
What's really great is that each book has observable impact on the world, and its impact can be seen in the next book. Even book 1, which felt like it undid a lot of its impact at the end, set up a Republic City where a non-bender was elected President and also followed a storyline where Asami is trying to rebuild her company's reputation, which was destroyed with her father being an Equalist.
Book 2 also had obvious effects that were capitalized in Book 3, and the same goes from Book 3 to Book 4. And yet, I think they all work pretty well as stand-alone stories. Overall, I consider it all really well done. Now, it's not perfect, and there's stuff I dislike, but it's the kinda stuff that I care less about as time goes on, as opposed to flaws that make me like a story less and less as time goes on.
So, even the flaws feel like they were executed pretty well.
A great series, and I am once again sad that it is over.
