Scripts: There and Back Again
10/13/15
I am at a significant point in my blog scripting, Stephan. I have a script to transform the area I currently create posts in (raw html files basically ready for publishing) to the minimal form (an html-like file with divs containing the necessary file information of "title", "date", "post", and "description"), and I have a script to retranslate that minimal post into the publishable html file.
Meaning I'm really close to just creating content with the minimal files, and thus only generating the files that the user sees. Which could very easily lead to doing more transformations on how I create the content and then generate it. Though, I believe I'm ultimately limited with what I can do based on the pattern I've set in my posts so far. I still think that starting over in 2016 will be incredibly valuable. I also think that working with what I got until then, and twisting it to my will, will also be incredibly valuable.
I still got a few more things to tweak before I actually transition to using the new setup, so I'll hold off showing the guts of this monster until then.
This is more just a progress report.
