The First-Year Milestone
05/07/15
A year ago today, I ssh'd to my server, did some finagling with sudo, apache, and config files, and edited an index.html. I wrote something called The First Stone. There was no CSS to speak of, and originally no date. The words started on the left-most side of the browser page and stretched to the end.
There's a bit of advice I've heard that I liked, "A year from now, you'll wish you started now." And now, a year later, I'm glad I started then. I'm not as far as I originally expected, but this past year has been more powerful than any year, more self-motivated, more mediative, more mine. I was the driver of my destiny more than I have ever been, and in many ways, big and small, this little blog here has helped achieve that end.
True, there's so much more I need to do, but that will always be true, it's a wonderful, horrifying nature of reality. There will always be more to do, and better ways to do it. And there will never be enough time to do all of it. There may very-well be things I think about doing that I never act on for all my life, but at least now I'm acting on some of those thoughts.
And there's so much more to come.
