Tracking Diet Strats
06/30/15
Quite a while ago, when I was 40 pounds heavier, I started counting calories to speed along my weight loss progress. This worked wonders. I now had a number to minimize, and for a while I managed to eat very little whilst doing a significant amount of exercise.
I'm thinking it's time to start counting calories again, but now I'm going to want to do much more than just counting calories. I might as well track as much as I can, creating a database that converts a measurement of consumption into all the stats about spending therein.
I mean, weight can be converted into calories, into sugars, into proteins and vitamins. I could turn a game into minimizing a number into min/maxing various numbers.
I do not want to fall into the trap of waiting until I have the tool before I start tracking my diet again. A pen and a notebook were good enough before, they're good enough to start. I can digitize my notes somewhere and convert them to all the statistics I want later, if so desired.
Just like with my Japanese Study Tool and with my bucket budgetting I will start with a system that is implemented by hand and slowly automate it more and more to my liking.
