Vacation Checklist
12/19/14
So, for the first time ever, I actually made a checklist for my vacation packing and preparation planning. It's always something I plan to do, but never actually do.
I made a generic "Vacation" git repo on my chromebook, and then cloned a "Winter_Vacation_2014" repo out of it. It went from a simple checklist to a complicated, multi-file system pretty quickly.
The filenames are:
- actions.txt
- checklist.txt
- little_suitcase.txt
- big_suitcase.txt
- backpack.txt
- pockets.txt
"actions.txt" contains the actions I need to complete, "checklist.txt" contains the items I still need to pack, "little_suitcase.txt" contains the items already packed in my little, carry-on suitcase, "big_suitcase.txt" contains the items packed in my check-in, big suitcase, "backpack.txt" contains the stuff packed in my carry-on backpack, and "pockets.txt" are the stuff I need to bring that're in my pockets.
I like this system, it keeps track of where things are and what things still need to be done, and I'm building a master list of actions and things to pack for the main Vacation repo. Well, if I remember to keep the master repo up to date with all the changes I make to the winter vacation one. I am not being perfect about that. For instance, I'm deleting actions as I do them, but some of them were new ones I didn't have in the main repo yet.
Still though, this system is clearly better than what I had before, which was precisely nothing.
