End of Day Review

03/04/15

So, again I didn't make a proper plan for the day outside of work. I really need to devote time in the morning to that, so that I can properly review what went wrong and what went right.

I already had an extra blog post lying around, so I decided to not bring my laptop with me on the bus ride to work. Both bus pomodoros were devoted to reading and I did a pretty good job of that.

Work started off slow but ended up going really well. I'm still only managing a mere 1 pomodoro per hour, and only 2 pomodoros for the day were directly about assigned work, but that I'm now tracking that sort of stuff really makes me happy.

Which again is why I want to do that for productivity outside of work. I may need to plan my productivity at the end of the day (like, right now for instance) instead of the morning. Maybe that would help motivate me for waking up properly early in the morning.

I definitely need to fix my sleep schedule and my productivity habits outside of work. Hell, my freetime habits could use some improvement, too. Playing games > reading book > watching TV > Internet browsing. Higher quality play could allow for higher-quality work, or maybe even the devotion of more time to work.

I mean, that was defintely what occurred over a year ago, when I successfully managed to replace habits I didn't like with habits I would prefer. Speaking of my once very-productive times, I realize now that that was when I was really trying pomodoro stuff. So here's hoping I unlock great self-discipline and various other awesome, happiness-causing things.

At work, I managed to revamp my pomodoro tracking log into html tables. I like the end result, and there isn't much extra work, so I think I'll redo the changes for the at-home system. But that'll be some other day than today. I might even translate it directly at work. There was some stuff that might be hard to repeat with identical results.

Overall, I'm building good, productive habits here, with good documentation to boot.
