Review

03/24/15

Today was a really good work day, but again a minimal out-of-work day. I published my blog post, fixed some stuff with my blog RSS, and did some more review writing.

External Distraction: Rosse talking to me

Work was really, really good, though, and it motivates me to do really well at home, I think. Review writing is going to end up being much slower, I have to accept that. I might fall behind in my reading goals, but it'll be worth it for higher quality reviews and higher quality understanding and/or participation of the material I am reading.

Tomorrow, instead of review writing, I will do Javascript stuff. I will jump from thing to thing until I get stuck, and put clear notes on what I was getting stuck on. Hopefully, I can get to finishing a lot of good stuff. Game stuff, web site stuff, file-manipulating scripts, database stuff, personal productivity stuff, chrome extension stuff. Alternating days between reading (or, right now, writing reviews) and working on software projects will be good. If I can manage my time such that I do both everyday, all the better.

So, tomorrow—well, first let's fix the template document. The way I do things is a little different now. Also, some things should be ideal pomodoros, things I do if the day is going well at that point. Spaced repetition and Smash practice are things I aspire to, but they aren't priorities by any measure of the word. Not right now.

Okay, I'm going to try a new thing where I only keep relevant things in the Activity Inventory, and otherwise the template activity inventory is where I'll store everything until that become too unwieldy and then I'll iterate further.

Tomorrow's limited plan is: short morning routine, bus-ride blogging, bus-ride javascripting, end of day stuff. I got a long day of work tomorrow so this is realistic. Ideally, I can fit in more quality morning routine stuff, a spaced-repetition pomodoro, and do my first attempt at setting up my home Smash-station.

I think that's good for now. I could finish up this pomodoro talking about what I need to do with my system, and that could be really valuable, but I'm going to sleep late enough as it is, so I'll just void this pomodoro and call it a night.
