Review

03/12/15

Here I am at the bus stop. Really tired. Smash may be too late in the day for me. Eh, I won't go too often. Probably not the best idea to go today, though, as I'm still in the middle of stabilizing my sleep schedule. Also, I got a meeting to make tomorrow morning. Which reminds me, I should set an alarm for that.

Done.

So, today went all right. I didn't get to nearly any of the pomodoros I planned at work, but that's because I failed to properly consider a meeting that I looked at right on my calendar. I mean, I actually looked and didn't consider it in my plan building which occurred almost right after.

Perhaps my building plan routine items shouldn't be integrated into my daily routine. Maybe I should have a routine that I follow for building my plans as well. Something to consider if this is a pattern that continues.

Personal pomodoros also went all right. I finished my book as planned and finished my blog post and started working on another one. I have started building a review structure plan in hopes of designing writing high-quality, multiple-reader-types review. That will be the first of the "review" posts. It should be out soon.

At work, for things I think I'll find myself doing somewhat regularly, I'm going to try to have a pomodoro prediction guideline for. So, for instance, doing a code review with a peer should take three pomorodos:

I'd like to attempt similiar things for everything I do. It should really help improve my predictative capabilities. Right now it's something I keep in my Activity Inventory, but it'll probably be revised come this weekly review where I try to rethink the whole setup there.

I think it's time to take Smash practice seriously. Make a training routine and do some deliberate practice of various concepts, setups, and problem-areas.

So, it's time to setup modded, netplay Melee on my desktop and really get into it. This isn't something I have time for this weekend, so once my sleep schedule stabilizes next week (as I feel it will), I'll devote a few morning pomodoros to the setup.
