Hyperfocus

10/08/15

It hasn't been that long from my last stint of hyperfocus, and today I entered the state again. My previous assertion that it's not something I caused may have been partially incorrect. Yes, people are cyclical, but also habits I'm forming may trigger certain possible states more often. Or whatever.

But in any case, not only do I find I can I encourage this state of mind into being, but I find I need to learn to use it like I learn to use any tool. Getting stuck on little details is a serious concern. I do it even as I realize I'm doing it. Just noting that I'm doing it is not itself enough to stop myself from wasting a powerful and currently rare resource.

I mean, this state is awesome, but I just spent the last hour messing with my .vim/ setup.

I'm still doing it. Right now. Even though I feel like focusing on finishing this blog first should be my priority, and even though I am pointing out my vim distraction right now.

It's kinda bizarre.

I fixed a long-standing problem I'd been having in vim, though. Maybe worth a post in itself?

Yes, but I've already stayed up late enough.
