QuakeCon: Day 0 (Wednesday)
07/28/14
Do you know what I think of when I think of travelling from Dallas to Tucson? Seeing the ocean.
....
Wait, wait, wait. We went over this already, in the future. This day was very much like my trip home, only backwards.
I got to read plenty of Getting Things Done while on planes, while waiting for planes, while waiting in line. I've almost finished it, now. I planned on finishing it on the trip home, but I was more focused on sleeping.
Oh, yeah, also, the line. When I finally got to Dallas, I needed to check my computer in. I was lucky, pre-registration was still open, and I wouldn't have to wait until the next morning to get my computer through. I had to wait a mere hour and a half to get my computer checked into the BYOC (bring your own computer) area. This was in a line that spanned a single room. The next morning, the line spanned a good fraction of the huge Hilton Hotel....
My friend jokingly referred to QuakeCon as LineCon months ago or so, now I know why. Though, this was my first convention, and I've heard stories about other conventions... is every convention LineCon?
