Made my minimum of 8 pomodoros at work today. A lot of those pomodoros were exploration and discussion. Tomorrow, I'm WFH and going to focus on GTD. After today, I'm going to have to accept that I won't make 40 pomodoros this week. I think an average of 8 per actual work day is still very possible though. That's my new goal.
I climbed this morning. I had an internal battle with myself over whether to do it. I knew that climbing would make my pomodoro goal difficult if not impossible. I decided that climbing is worth giving priority, and sacrificing important personal maintenance to meet work goals is not healthy. I'm doing good work (I've been told as much). Yes I could do better, but some weeks will make meeting my metrics hard.
And I'm going to make my self-imposed minimum, I just wanted to surpass them. We can do that next week.
Anyways, climbing went super well. So well, in fact, that I think the new challenges were easier than their colors claimed. Usually I struggle on reds, but I could do a ton today, and even got an orange (first successful one of that color), and a purple (this one was way too easy and I think it was just the wrong color).
I'm glad I got some IGDA stuff in yesterday because I didn't have the energy for it today. Will try to devote some time to it tomorrow.
I returned Artisan Vegan Cheese to the library (and immediately put it on hold again because skimming proved its value and next time I get it I'll actually make some of the cheeses), and checked out the Pragmatic Programmer.
This had been on hold ever since my mentor recommended it. I'm excited to make some priority for reading it. My mentor calls it a classic.
I read some blogs and some twitter during my browsing block. Not as disappointed in myself as usual for doing that. Probably because it was well-contained. Still, though, let's not make it a habit.

Now that I don't force a written sentence or two when reviewing my old posts, I've noticed that my review of the day will contrast with what I wrote about the previous day (and the previous week or month or year when it's relevant). I like that.
