Daily Entry: June 14th, 2019

Been a while.

Not going to backlog over two weeks of missing posts.

I'll give a general overview of what happened over the last couple weeks.

So, the first weekend of June my parents visited for a bit, and that Sunday I got another game of Spirit Island in with some friends (my old roomies).

Monday, the third, I got Invisalign and got a night fligt to SF for a short visit to the main office.

Tuesday, the fourth, I played more Spirit Island with some SF friends. I end up playing so late that I can't take public transportation back to my hotel, so I sleep on my friend's couch. Good times.

Wednesday, the fifth, the Lexicon team goes out for drinks and has some team bonding.

Thursday, the sixth, I get the last bit of work I'll get in for the next two weeks before I took a night flight home.

Over the week, I finished Faster than Normal. The book had some good advice and some good resources to check out. But it also just had some terrible, privildge-driven ableism. Some of it was just gross. At various points, the auther requests advice and feedback, but I don't know if he's willing to correct himself. Maybe I'll try it.

A summary of the troubling content, though:

1
ADHD is not a disability. You're not disabled, you're awesome.

Trigger warnings are bad and for people who don't want to face reality.

Friday, the seventh, was the day I got my tonsils removed. I went in at 9. Had my surgery at 11, and was home by 2. That was a week ago and I'm still recovering and in a fair amount of pain. Still on a mostly liquids diet. But the wife and I have mastered the art of the vitamix so I still have quite a bit of options.

I have also been eating a fair amount of ice cream. I'll try to get back to not eating sugar once my throat allows non-liquid foods.

Anyways, the last week has been lots of TV, a little bit of games, and some blur from the pain killers. I think my mind has recovered quite a bit.

There's a lot of stuff I'm hoping to start doing once the pain subsides. I'd like to get back into start of day and end of day routines, side projects, learning either to draw or to play an instrument. But I'll add one thing at a time and work hard to control scope.

For now, though, I'm just goint to let myself recover.

That's all for now.
