Uncle Tom died a year ago today.

I keep throwing my "Think about Babuska, grand parents, people who're gone" into the future. I need to be in that kind of mood, you know? But.... Perhaps I should try and see if I can call the mood to my side.

Last month, my mentee got me a pomodoro timer. I use it regularly at home. I quite enjoy it. Not necessary, by any means, but satisfying to use.

Rubber-duck debug habits as well as code. Worth repeating.

Also worth repeating: "Do a pomodoro to gain energy (it happens!)" But this one I'm actually taking advantage of more and more (though I could've done some right when I got home today and still got some IGDA admin pomodoros in, so I could be better).

Today was a day I thought for sure would end with a less-than-minimum amount of pomodoros. But here I am at the end of the day and I got 10 pomodoros in at work. It helped immensely that a meeting was moved to tomorrow. Though, even with the meeting, I could've met the minimum.

Just need to achieve that level of consistency at home, now. Skipped out on personal project pomodoros today.

So, with consistent pomodoros means I have so many pomodoros before a certain date. Which is interesting. I have a goal of consolidating all the drop down code and having a "drop-down menu everywhere" by Thursday, the 20th. With today being over, that leaves 9 workdays before the deadline. Meaning 90 pomodoros.

Though, actually, it's 80 pomodoros, because Tuesday the 18th is an all day EPD offsite. But also I'll be in SF that week, so I might be able to do more pomodoros per day. Lots of asterisks, is what I'm saying.

In any case, knowing how many pomodoros I have is interesting. It's a more solid number than days or hours, in it's own way. Also, 80 feels like a lot, and it is. I get a lot done in a week with just short of 50. There's something so interesting about a large amount of pomodoros.

Which is why I need this consistency at home!
