Dream

I had some sort of vague dream about playing MTG Arena, I think. Just know there was some card I was interacting with that doesn't exist, I'm pretty sure.

Thinking

Woke up in the middle of the night for an unknown reason for 2 hours. Slept two hours later as a result. Feeling okay overall. Not doing the "normal" routine (though Saturdays have no normal currently). I have convinced the deeper self that these logs and that stretching is integral to my consistent happiness. At least, that's how it feels currently and is why I'm doing a plan so late in the day and will be stretching right after.

Today might be a lot more about just chatting with friends, I think. Will try to get some reading in, and maybe some side project stuff, though a lot of the day is gone already.

Built-in plan buffers are going pretty well, I think. A means of practicing intentionality whilst also practicing flexibility. I'm being pretty good about time-tracking, but need to start looking at graphs soon, to get value. That's something I'll need to figure out over the weekend, I think.

I do really like the intentionality of writing in what I'm switching to when I switch to it, though. That has a lot of value in of itself.

Yesterday was pretty solid overall, I think. Not getting much work done, but it's a momentum building stage, and I'm doing a little cleanup here and there, which is good.

An hour blocked out for stretching everyday isn't ideal when I know I can do it in 30 minutes, but the reality is that I take time with stretching. Trying to condense it leads to me not doing it at all, which is bad. The improved quality of sleep almost certainly makes up for it. I don't need to force efficiency.

I have tried caffeine again today. We will see if it plus ADHD medication is too much.

I think I have acclimated to the ADHD medication, and may be willing to try having caffeine again. It's something I'll try tommorrow, I think. It's still doing something, I think, as I'm having a pretty good relationship with, say, this log. Though I skipped Saturday and Sunday again, I managed Friday and yesterday even though the explicit plan was to do basically nothing.

What I want to do next, I think, is really put certain hours of the day into specific buckets. Which I think I'll put into my timeblock template right now.

And done.

But!

This is not some strict thing. "Practice flexibility". I have to be careful about this. There are some things that will have to find its own place based on external variables.

Only vaguely remember that I had a dream.

Thinking

Was really tired yesterday. Been really putting a lot of new strain on myself what with the ADHD medication, more serious running, longer bouts of intense work focus, and trying to stretch everyday. Decided to sleep in and see if my body just needed some more recovery time. Will not walk or run today, my steps will just be the amount of pacing I do about the house (which is still quite a lot, in all honesty).

I may also go for extra calories. Extra sleep and extra calories. A four-day weekend starts tonight, as well, which should help a lot.

I'll still be stretching here soon, though. And try to get a solid amount of work in.

Dream

I had one of those dreams that can only really be called a nightmare, except I didn't wake with any sense of fear or dread. Some evil being tricked me into teleporting to a room to play some tedious game with it. Upon getting bored I decided I wouldn't play, but I couldn't escape, as the room had no exits. That's all I really remember.

Thinking

Starting to reignite the spaced-repetition habit. What seems to have triggered it is I'm not allowed morning entertainment until I stretch, but stretching is a much better experience when the wife wakes up. Thus, I do other productive things until around 1900. This means a pretty early pomodoro for planning the day, as well as a post-breakfast spaced-repetition (which I've just updated my default morning plan to be).

All that's really missing from my daily routines is a proper time for reading. I think it'll find its place soon enough.

Don't remember my dream at all.

Thinking

Yesterday, my heartbeat had trouble slowing down after my run home from the orthodontist. I did a pretty hard run, and that sort of thing has happened after hard runs before, but I do know my medication can cause an increase in heart rate and blood pressure. It's something I should keep tabs on, for sure.

I think it is likely I'll be below 190 by my birthday, which is neat. Have a good 10 pounds of buffer for my decade of being below 200! Though, I'm not taking such a goal seriously, and even if I did, I'd measure it not as pass/fail but percentage of time below 200. That way getting above 200 isn't simply a failure.

I'm getting light enough now that I'm noticing it is much easier on my body to run. Which makes pushing myself too hard all the easier. Got my heart rate up to 185 during my run yesterday, and that's too high. I'm not supposed to go above (220 - 30)*0.8 = 152. Though (220 - 30) = 190 is the literal "maximum heart rate", so at least I'm not going above that. My average heart rate during the run was 159. I should at least strive to not go above 152 for average heart rate, I think.

A Time to Rethink

Things are in flux. Lots of new variables are at play and my environment (both my surroundings and how I naturally react to those surroundings). It's time to reconsider certain aspects of my systems and habits therein, I think.

Certain changes are coming naturally. Suddenly, I've switched from naturally eating too much food to eating too little food, but because I measure calories in/out, and surprisingly measure it pretty accurately, I caught this change and am working towards pushing myself to eat a bit more (I want to lose weight slowly, so working on small deficits of 250-500 calories per day, not 1000 which can happen if I don't make sure to eat more).
