Pager duty was hard on me rebuilding my routines, but now I'm going to try to reestablish a lot of them. These include, but are not limited to:

  • spaced-repetition with Anki
  • stretching
  • waking up at 0500
  • website side-projects

The other side-project I was working on wasn't working out. It's the kind of thing that can get a bit of time per week though, maybe, but in a more intense way. So that's what I'll try to do there.

Okay, we're not going to start the day with MTG Arena today. Also, I had a solid night of sleep, and took an extra shot of espresso this morning. I did end up having some non-work stuff to think about this morning. The wife and I had a budget date and went over a bunch of things. We're going to push out the Japan trip to 2023, probably. Which means I'm putting our savings there into an index fund for now.

The wife no longer feels safe with public transit, which is fair, so we'll probably have to do some thinking on buying a car, maybe. Was too big a task for our limited time today, so we've pushed the conversation. Not something we need to worry about until the lockdown ends, at the very least.

Hello! I live. Took a week off and played a lot of video games and watched a lot of TV (and did a fair amount of cooking and music with wife). The games in question were Valorant and MTG Arena. Okay, okay. I think not logging for the week I was off is fine. Not logging yesterday, though, that got me off to a bad start. Not logging today made me super inefficient.

I've started running again, though. Didn't do a run during week off. Stretching is still iffy. Would like to maybe force waking up at 0500 again. In any case, I need to do a bare minimum amount of work today to set myself up for success tomorrow. I got my devbox working, which is good.
