Last year: "I have received word from Mixpanel that I will receive word from them by Tuesday."

Sun Jul 08 14:48:28 UTC 2018

Last month, I got excited about getting TypeScript working with the panel tutorial.

Last week was a recovery day after the work trip to Tahoe. Though, also, I still did my weekly review, and I got around to setting up a YNAB account. Which during today's weekly review I'll actually look at my spending for the week.

I'll reread this again during the weekly review later.

Sun Jul 08 14:54:56 UTC 2018

Yesterday, I devoted a bunch of time to my timer remake, and hung out with a friend for a few hours.

I noted some things I want to follow-up on. I actually have time right now. Let's rotate a password first and then get to this.

Sun Jul 08 15:02:30 UTC 2018

Rotating passwords took the rest of the time.

Spending this month is around $3000 already, but that's mostly rent and buying flights to various places for various reasons. I will continue tracking it.

Mon Jul 09 01:47:21 UTC 2018

So, I'm noticing that while I read through my past week of posts, I don't at all read all the questions I ask myself. Now, to a certain extent, this is fine, because I'm doing fine and so I don't need to assess the data to fix things.

But....

I think the data I have can very well be visualized in a way that I can notice weird things at a glance and maybe manage some preventative stuffs.

Something to keep in mind.

Mon Jul 09 01:54:44 UTC 2018

I've been pretty good this week about noting all the stuff I'm reading/watching/listening to and making quick notes about it.

I'm not saying as much as is in my mind, but I'm finding a good balance between taking way too much time to write down every little inane thought and not noting anything and letting what I consume pass through me without me assessing how it affects me.

Mon Jul 09 01:56:49 UTC 2018

Speaking of, I have one thing I want to mention about what I've read yesterday. The article is What Color are Your Bits?, and it made me think of a video I watched a while back: The Golden Calf | Abolishing Copyright Law and The Golden Calf Vol. 2 | Is Art a Commodity?.

Basically, I have a simple thing to say here: the article talks about the color of copyright and the videos talk about how restricting that color is censorship.

Also, Programmers Need To Learn Statistics Or I Will Kill Them All has some book recommendations to add to my library list (which is already at 46, but I have accepted I won't actually read all the books).

Nevermind, none of them seem to be in the library.

Weekly reviews on Sunday feel right. Only planning and review on Sunday, otherwise relax and/or do stuff with the wife.

Listening to cortex during pomodoros still.... Not sure how I feel about it. I should do some research about it. Eh.... I'll try to switch between other white noises and compare and contrast different pomodoros as I go, maybe.

Today I watched:

Mon Jul 09 03:52:16 UTC 2018

Did a whole bunch of password rotations. I have a lot of extra time today.

Hopefully this is a sign that I'm getting faster? I've noticed that my mornings have been going pretty smoothly, which means I get more of the one-off daily items in the daily checklist, meaning more time in my end of day review.

Yesterday, I started putting articles I've been meeting to read on my phone. So when I go to my browser on my phone (something I don't do too often), there are things I've been meaning to read there.

And by "I started", I mean I remembered an article that a friend recommended and started reading it on my phone, and I got this idea. I have a ton of things to read, Stephan. People send me things to read. I think part of it is that the people who send me things to read, I tell them my thoughts when I finally get around to reading it (often months later).

Is Trello on the phone? Yes, but my device isn't compatible. I could update the OS, but first I need to change my authentication setup to not require my phone. I'll think about it (I've created Trello cards for it).

I have a lot of reading items in my email that I don't think I'll bother moving to Trello, though, so for now I can just look at my reading tag in email. I think that should work well.
